Taking this conflict of interest training course.  A blurb about gifts:

Unsolicited gifts and business courtesies, including meals and entertainment, are permissible if they are customary and commonly accepted business courtesies; not excessive in value; and given and accepted without an express or implied understanding that you are in any way obligated by your acceptance of the gift.

so, what you’re saying is i just have to make accepting huge gifts a customary and commonly accepted business practice . . . brilliant!
