Best Sleep . . . Ever.
Monday, May 22nd, 2006After a thursday to friday marathon hack session that left me with less that four hours of sleep, a rushed return to SF to pick up a cargo van, a drive to sacramento, a night’s worth of packing stuff into said cargo van (including a matrress that required much persuation and coaxing to get into van), another four hour nap, a drive back to SF in the early morning, an unloading of van (including mattress that didn’t want to get out of van), a rushed return to get van back to rental agency by 1pm, an unpacking of stuff, washing of many dishes, cleaning of many furniture items, an assembly of two chairs and a table, and a building of futon, I put my body to rest for the best sleep i’ve had in almost a year. Fourteen hours straight during which i apparently slept through five renditions of erotic city (phone calls) and promptly awoke at 8am to be dissappointed by the cable guy who was unable to install cable into the house due to a rotted out phone poll from which the cable drop needed to be replaced.
whew. paragraph break. deep breath.
apparently, this technology stuff is difficult to come by at the house. so far, it’s been two failed deliveries of TV and one failed cable installation.
As a follow up to move, a little body check: back - OK. shoulder - OK. neck: a little cranky. right knee: a little fucked.
But, does all that stuff in the middle really matter? Not really. I still had the best damn sleep in ages.
