Monday Night Football has moved to espn this year. Notable, for me, only because it’s no longer on ABC, which, when i was growing up, used to be channel 10 in good old sacramento. You see, Channel 10 also carried wheel of fortune which was nanny’s favorite show. I don’t know why it was nanny’s favorite show. she couldn’t understand english, so it’s not like she could participate in the puzzle solving. Perhaps it had something to do with the pagentry of wheel spinning or the excitment of the contestants (big money! big money!). I dunno. whatever it was, it was her favorite. So much so that it would be the duty of kevin and i to finish dinner before 7 so that we could turn on the tv and tune it to the Wheel for her. It was our daily ritual. except, of course, for mondays during the football season.

Well, nanny, I’m happy to report that football no longer gets in the way of wheel of fortune. five years after you’ve gone, they finally came to their senses.
